Explore the efforts of African Americans in the 20th century to gain equal political, social, and economic opportunity. Discover firsthand the voices of Americans who worked for civil rights and the American Dream. This collaborative course examines the literature of this time period, exploring written works by and about African Americans. Students will also study and research the African American community, exploring those who have made contributions to music, dance literature. Students MUST enroll in both ENGL M01B (CRN 32486) and HIST M03B (CRN 31237).
